Paying tribute to the Speedmaster CK 2998 worn by Walter Schirra on the Sigma 7 mission in 1962, the first OMEGA in space, this 39.7 mm model revives the second-generation style. Its grey-blue CVD-coated dial, under a sapphire crystal shaped like hesalite, carries Alpha hands and indexes with vintage Super-LumiNova, a white varnished Baton seconds hand and a vintage applied OMEGA logo.
Subdials count 30 minutes at 3 o'clock, 12 hours at 6 and small seconds at 9, and the black aluminium bezel ring holds a tachymeter with Dot Over Ninety. The caseback bears the Seahorse medallion and the date OCTOBER 3, 1962. Calibre 3861, the modern successor to Calibre 321, is a manual-winding, METAS-certified Co-Axial Master Chronometer. It is worn on a flat-link steel bracelet.
