Mint green is the colour chosen for this dial, a nod to the 'Youngtimers', the sports cars of the 1980s and 1990s. Taking the SSC813 as its model, the watch keeps the 'Panda' arrangement popular with Seiko fans, in which black subdials stand out against the main dial, and its case inherits the fluid shape of the Speedtimers made in the 1960s and 70s. Light from the sun or electric sources charges the in-house V192, which stores six months of power, runs to within 15 seconds a month either way and drives a chronograph for timing intervals; the watch is water resistant to 100m.
