At the heart of this Astron is Seiko's in-house 5X83, a solar movement that charges efficiently and times events to one-twentieth of a second. The titanium case and bracelet carry a super-hard coating, keeping weight down while still looking substantial, and a dual-curved sapphire crystal sits over the dial. Seiko describes Astron as the first GPS solar watch in the world, running on light and setting itself by satellite.
