The Seiko 5 Sports SKX Series SSK005K1 combines an orange dial and syringe hands with a 42.5 mm stainless steel case and a rotating 24-hour bezel. The automatic calibre 4R34 gives it a GMT function and a date with a magnifier, plus 41 hours of power reserve, and the watch is water resistant to 100 m. The 'Mikan' orange GMT is Seiko's latest reading of the SKX, a 1990s line that reworked the 1960s originals with more water resistance, sturdier crystals and luminous markings. Its 'beads of rice' bracelet uses a five-piece link pattern of small X shapes in keeping with SKX heritage. A two-tone 24-hour bezel coated in Hardlex works with the GMT hand for international timekeeping, and the LumiBrite paint on the hands and indices takes in light quickly, staying bright for longer even in dim conditions.
