Seiko designed this watch as a tribute to the SKX399, a popular piece from the first generation of Seiko 5 Sports SKX models launched in the 1990s. The original layout carries over, including its richly textured indices and hands, while the bezel gets refreshed knurling and a glossy glass insert for extra shine. A black silicone strap is chosen for comfort and style. Accuracy from the in-house 4R36 automatic movement is given as +45 / -35 seconds per day.
