The SBGA415G reinterprets the case of the 62GS, the 1967 model that was Grand Seiko's first automatic mechanical watch, with a modern sensibility. Its dial evokes the harsh yet beautiful landscape of Shinshu, home of Grand Seiko's Spring Drive watchmaking, under the deep snow of the seasonal period known in Japan as Taisetsu.
The 40.0 mm case and the bracelet are made of High-Intensity Titanium, about 30% lighter than stainless steel and more resistant to scratches and corrosion, bringing the weight to 102 g. The Spring Drive calibre 9R65 offers around 72 hours of power reserve, shown by an indicator on the dial, and can be seen through the see-through screw case back.
