Rado changed watchmaking in 1962 when it brought out the scratch-resistant DiaStar, and this version keeps its recognisable shape. Rado lists a CVD coating on the hardmetal, combined with stainless steel and PVD-treated steel. The case is 10.1 mm thick and weighs 103 g. On the black dial, one window shows both day and date. The bracelet is PVD-coated stainless steel in yellow gold colour, fastened by a matching 3-fold clasp. Water resistance is 30 metres, which protects against splashes and rain but does not allow swimming.
