The Grand Seiko Sport SBGE305G is a limited edition of 1,300 pieces marking 20 years of the Spring Drive calibre 9R. Its 40.5 mm stainless steel case carries a ceramic bezel and a dark red dial, and the Spring Drive GMT calibre 9R66 runs for about 72 hours; the case is water resistant to 20 bar. Grand Seiko first fitted the 9R movement to a watch in September 2004, and this GMT is one of two pieces it released for the anniversary in 2024. The dark red dial recalls the summer sunrise lighting up the steep Hotaka mountains in Nagano, where Spring Drive watches are made, and a silver GMT hand stands out clearly against it. The local hour hand can be moved forward or back on its own without stopping the watch, so changing time zones never costs accuracy. The crown and case back both screw down.
