The Spring Drive 5 Days calibre 9RA2 runs for about 120 hours, keeps time to ±10 seconds a month and shows its power reserve on the movement side; the case is water resistant to 10 bar. Nagano Prefecture, home of Grand Seiko's Shinshu Watch Studio, has more white birch than anywhere else in Japan, and the dial's finely layered texture evokes rows of their pale trunks in winter, under a tempered blue seconds hand. The case follows the Evolution 9 Style, Grand Seiko's update of its 1967 design language.
