The Superocean Heritage goes back to 1957, when Breitling launched the time-only Ref. 1004 and the Ref. 807, the first chronograph made specifically for divers – both meant to look as good ashore as they worked underwater. Today's line keeps their arrow-shaped hour hand and spear-shaped minute hand and adds a scratch-resistant ceramic inlay to the rotating bezel. The mesh-style steel bracelet or mesh-pattern rubber strap is integrated with the case and closes with a folding clasp, and the date sits discreetly at six o'clock. This generation introduced the B31, Breitling's first exclusive three-hand manufacture calibre.
